Gilbert’s has been established in Helmsdale since 2004 and our business has grown and grown each year.
Our busy day time bistro restaurant, offers snacks, homemade cakes and freshly cooked meals. It now opens on a number of nights in high season. During quieter periods of the year we host special theme nights- such as Italian and Surf & Turf evenings, alongside our established Valentine, Mother’s Day & Xmas menus. We also cater for weddings, birthdays and other special events by request as well as private, business and community catering.
Recently, we have begun to work with local suppliers of organic chocolate, organic vegetables and local cheeses to champion these products in our area. Gilbert’s own fresh and chilled range will soon also be available for customers to purchase, alongside our established preserves, chutneys and gift hampers.
Behind the main shop, Gilbert’s boasts a large antique and furniture ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ for customers to browse at their leisure. We also have our cosy apartment ‘Fisherman’s Rest’, to rent for short breaks, weekly or on a long term basis.
